So dad is going to NH but mom won't go and I need to find a cheaper apartment ASAP. Any advice?

The nursing home will take my dad's SS check and my mom will only have hers. She gets a decent about, just under 2k a month but need to find her a cheaper apartment asap because she won't be able to afford the rental she's in soon. I contacted all the low income housing I could find, but there's not much regular housing around that meets her price point. Any advice? Have you had to find another place for mom in a very short time?

If dad is going on Medicaid to NH, your mom may qualify for spouse allowance. Couples get different evaluation and a little extra to keep her there while you find a place could help. NH is not who decides community spouse. Medicaid case worker can evaluate.
