My mom is 82 years old and has a feeding tube, she still wants to try to eat soft food. Is it possible?

She doesn’t do or talk much at all, just sleeping most of the time.

There are many people who eat orally in addition to having a feeding tube, it would depend on the reasons she can't eat normally and your/her willingness to take some risks in order to enhance her present quality of life. Speak to the doctor and weigh the pros and cons, but unless there is a physical blockage so the food can't be swallowed if it were me I would allow her to try a few carefully supervised bites of her favourites.

She can have a test called a video flouroscopy to see what she can do with oral food to see if it’s safe for her to eat. Her doctor can order the test and then you’ll know if soft foods are okay or if she’s at risk for aspirating them into her lungs

This is something you need to discuss with her doctor.

I'm not sure I understand what your question is. Can you elaborate?

OP probably is saying mom wants to try to eat soft food, so she does not have to use the tube or have it removed all together.
