Your profile states that your mother lives at home. So, presumably, you do currently have full control of her diet, yes?

So... what facilities do you expect to have to work with, and what problems are you having in terms of the diet they offer their patients/residents? Are you perhaps looking for respite care, or is your mother scheduled for inpatient treatment, something like that?

Has a doctor ordered the special diet?

Does your parent accept this diet? They can't force a resident or patient to eat specific things.

How old is your parent? Is your parent in "her right mind" or is dementia an issue?

What specific health problems does non-compliance with a low salt diet cause?

Basically, a special diet has to be ordered by her physician. She has to be willing to comply with it.

The doctor would need to order any special diet and it would need to be in their records.

Any decent health facility should accept dietary restrictions. Is that not happening?

Moms NH told me they were giving her a salt free diet because of her BP. Never heard of a facility not accommodating a special diet.
