My mom wears overnight diapers but ends up peeing as she gets off her bed wetting the carpet How can I protect this area safely?

Rubber backed washable rugs.

Try a vinyl square, perhaps with a washable non-slippery towel on top. Many kitchen mats are waterproof but not slippery when wet.
