Sleeps way too much. Appetite is good, she eats, not a lot but eats 3 meals plus snacks. Can't remember how to put her depend/pad on. Still knows us, but no concept of day, time, night or day. I have her at home but it is getting difficult. Not sure when to try to move her. I don't want to do that to her while she knows us, but not sure I can continue the care. When would you know if Hospice will help?

Has she been been diagnosed with dementia? If so,she will only get worse, unfortunately. Even if you don’t want to place her immediately, it’s not a bad idea to get all your ducks in a row before it becomes absolutely necessary. If she needs someone as POA, see a lawyer and appoint someone. File for Medicaid for her if necessary. It’s always a good idea to have a plan.
When you decide to put her in a facility is a personal choice. But please don’t wait until you’re burned out, stressed out and angry. That’s not good for anybody.
