homecarenurse50, the vast majority of grown children taking care of their parent(s) do not get paid.... unless the parent can pay you from their retirement fund. If your Mother could do that, you would need to create an employment contract.
If your Mom is eligible for Medicaid [which is different from Medicare] you could check with Medicaid to see if your State does offer salary for caregiving.... but note the pay would probably be minimum wage with limit hours. Each State has their own rules, regulations, and programs.
