My dad is living in a long-term nursing home at this time. He absolutely hates it. (Strong word, but he does.)

How do I start to get him transferred to another facility? We have many reasons why we need to do this. We have already located another nursing home that we would like him transferred to but not sure where to begin the process? Can you help me with this? Thank you.

Although I have no experience with this, my thinking is to begin with the new NH. Tell them you want him to be transferred there, and do they have a bed available? Do they have a waiting list? You may have to pay for an ambulance to move him, if that is what he needs.
