H experienced a couple of strokes and they hit in the brain, so over time his dementia had progresses very fast and aggressive. He was admitted to ICU bc of another light heart attack and unfortunately has been put on a ventilator now but he's off it after 3 days now. And doing OK I guess but not great either. But still in a coma like state.

I like what ITRL said about a baby doll. Its worth a try.
If he is asking for a baby you can bring a doll in for him to hold, get one that feels like a real baby. My granny loved hers and found much comfort in caring for her baby.
