Need help at home with using prosthesis and light housekeeping. Any suggestions?
I have an above knee prosthesis that I only use when therapists work with me 4 mornings a week. They have suggested getting help to practice with the prosthesis. Also need help with cleaning.
If the therapists have suggested getting more help to practice, then this is obviously what you need to do. It’s difficult, but you’ll never learn to be comfortable using it if you’re not wearing it, right? Surely this is something you’ve already been told by the therapists.
Check your insurance to see if they will provide you with housekeeping help for a while. Other than that, you can go to the care.com website or check Facebook. I always see posts for cleaning people there.
