This is normal. There are "Twiddle muffs" look them up. My daughter made one for my Mom. The facility ordered 4 more. My daughters were a lot nicer than the crochet one shown. You can personalize them. For a man you could attach screws and nuts so they can screw them together.
Maybe allowing Mom fold towels. I saw this with a blind woman. They gave her the basket with hand towels and washclothes. She would fold them, the CNA would take them, mess them up and give the basket back.
Both mom and grandma do this. Mom will keep pulling tissue out of the box to fold until it's empty. Grandma will burn through an entire roll of TP in one sitting. At least with her, it's with a purpose. She prefolds her TP so that it's ready to use. The fact that she folds each sheet in a quarter the size it was and thus doesn't provide full coverage resulting in poop getting all over her fingers is besides the fact. She will not use more than 1 quarter folded sheet of TP at a time.
How would you even go about stopping it? I've tried for years to get grandma to use more TP for full coverage to no avail. Please let me know if you succeed and I'll apply that technique to getting grandma to use more TP.
Considering some of the issues I am reading about people on these boards are having with the LO, folding toilet paper is nothing!
LOL-when I am stressed out, or bored, I will shred paper napkins. I didn't even realize I did it until my kids (who were all fairly young at the time) starting playing "let's mimic mom until she notices" and one by one they began tearing napkins into shreds....it took me quite a while to 'get it'.
I wonder if I will revert back to that behavior when I am really old?
Thank you. It just seems so odd to me. Plus I am going broke buying tp. lol. I am running out of places to put all the folded paper. I am trying to talk her into using it. I guess I shouldn't sweat the small stuff.
