How do I find out if someone has a POA for my mom?
My sister says she has POA, so she told me that my mom’s finances are none of my business. All I wanted to do is find resources to help provide better care for my mom.
LoClaudio, as you had written, your sister is your Mother's Power of Attorney. Is your sister both financial POA and health care POA? Or are you the health care POA since you are your Mom's caregiver [per your profile]?
Is there any reason why the two of you can't work as a team to help your Mom be comfortable in her remaining years?
Your sister is right, she doesn't need to share with you the financials. But she should be able to answer you if you feel it is time for more hands on deck or even time to move Mom to Memory Care because of her needs.
