I'm having a problem with the commode that my 94 year old mom uses. Although I ALWAYS use a commode liner, and remove it EVERY DAY, there is always a remaining odor. Of course, the commode is near her bed, and the unpleasant smells bother her a lot! I've cleaned it REGULARLY with bleach and with other cleaning products, and I've even taken it outside to "air out" during the day, but the odors remain. Has anyone had this problem, and what was the solution? Thanks for any advice you can give!

Isthisreallyreal's idea is a good one. Vinegar seems to absorb odors. Put a bowl of it where Mom can't get to it. You will see a difference in a day or two.
Then leave a bit of vinegar in the bowl to help minimize the odors from use. You can also put some baking soda in the liner after each change.
