Yes, talk to a lawyer versed in Medicaid now. I say now because what assets you have will be split. His half will have to be spent down then u can apply for Medicaid. You will become a "Community Spouse" and as such will not be made impoverished. You will be able to stay in ur home and have a car. Every situation is different so a lawyer is a good idea.

If he qualifies for Medicaid then no, you absolutely will not lose everything you’ve worked for. Medicaid never leaves a spouse impoverished.
