Yes, talk to a lawyer versed in Medicaid now. I say now because what assets you have will be split. His half will have to be spent down then u can apply for Medicaid. You will become a "Community Spouse" and as such will not be made impoverished. You will be able to stay in ur home and have a car. Every situation is different so a lawyer is a good idea.
If he qualifies for Medicaid then no, you absolutely will not lose everything you’ve worked for. Medicaid never leaves a spouse impoverished. Generally you’ll be able to keep your SS & pension and you should be able to keep part of his BUT you really need an elder Carr lawyer well versed in Medicaid to figure this out for you. You can keep your home too.
