RobynCu, the vast majority of family caregivers are not paid.... unless the parent can pay from their own savings account. One would need to draw up an employment-agreement.
If money is tight, you can contact your State Medicaid [which is different from Medicare] office to see if the parent can qualify, and see what type of programs are available through the State.
