You can be paid as a "Family Caregiver". I suggest that you have your Mom sign a "Caregiver Contract" that way you have the agreement in writing in case anyone questions why your Mom is paying you to take care of her. Copy and paste the URLs to your browser.
If your Mom refuses to pay you, then you need to get a part-time job in SC because the Affordable Care Act Marketplace Health Insurance does NOT apply if you have NO income. If you have NO income, then you will have to find an independent health insurance company that will insure you and the premiums are extremely high-- anywhere from $1,000 to $1,500+ per month--which is tough for someone with no income to pay.
