If your dad is on Medicaid than you can become his family caregiver by getting hired through an agency & assigned to him, or through the waiver program which would involve him hiring you however, if you are his POA, guardian or social security payee, then you aren’t eligible and can’t be paid through Medicaid.
Usually, the only way is if you both sign a Caregiver’s Agreement and he pays you out of his own funds. I’ve heard that in some states, Medicaid will pay caregivers if he is on it. Bear in mind that unless you set up a savings account for a retirement fund and sign up for health insurance, you won’t receive either by caregiving.
