Yes. Costs vary a lot. Some even go to Mexico where the newest laser is typically done for less than one half the 10,000 cost here. There will be doctors who will give you one procedure for this price and the newer laster for bumped up costs. Unless you -- like me -- are a Kaiser patient the cost will vary quite a lot and you can shop it out dependent on your insurance and where it covers your procedure.
You can always "shop around" You can always ask what payment options a particular doctor will accept. Some may be more willing than others. Check with the Lions Club in your area and see (no pun intended) if they have options as well.
Quality of cataract surgery providers varies as well as some prices. I would ask friends or relatives who have had the surgery about their experiences.
