Is this happening at her living facility? If not, then it may just be that she got anxious, but if this is happening more then this is definitely something for a doctor to check on.
Check with her PCP first, and then barring any issue, try ordering from the kids' menu. Not as many options, but it's not fun to eat out and then 'lose it'.
Probably, if she's like my mom, she just likes the change of pace.
Time for a Dr visit. She may be having problems with swallowing, and need a different type of diet, or even have an obstruction ( not to scare you). Or maybe she is just eating more or different food than she is used too ?
Have you discussed it with her doctor? My LO had something like that and her problem was acid reflux, for which she takes medication, but, it could be anything. I 'd start with her primary doctor.
