My father has been scammed out of at least $200,000. He refuses to believe that he is being scammed. Help!

I have talked and talked to him he just yells at me and tells me to mind my own business. My mom has put her foot down some. He no longer has access to their money but he is being so mean to my mom that sometimes she breaks down and gives him a little money. He spends all day and a lot of evenings just talking to dozens of scammers.

Who has financial Power of Attorney for him? He can't have any more access to the money or credit cards. Hopefully he's not given out his SSN. If he's "being mean" to your mom and this is not normal for him he needs to get assessed for cognitive issues (seems like he has issues but should be confirmed so you know what you're dealing with).

- Wow, report this to the police for direction.
- Go to the FTC.gov website. There is a drop down for scams information.
- Close all bank accounts and credit/debit cards. New ones should be kept in a safe (locked ) place
- Change the phone number and get an unlisted number --- scammers spread the wealth and share information on those who give them money
- Get to the mail box and shred all applications for new credit cards, etc
- Post infor on the credit rating agencies that opt your folks out of credit card offers
