I am looking for an assist-care home for my 57-year-old son! He has bipolar & has medication that has to be given daily.

I am not able to care for him, as my husband that is 90, has Cancer & since I am 82. We have very many Dr. appointment for all the Dr.'s that my husband has to see & keeps me busy taking him to the Dr.

My son is in a home to the far SE of our home and the home is up for sale. Want to find him someplace that will care for him in the Evans, Martinez & Grovetown area. Do not want in downtown Augusta, GA, or Harlem,GA. If we have him in our town, he would be here all the time.

When my mother was in a skilled nursing facility, there was a gentleman there who had no outward signs of disability. He appeared to be in his early to mid-fifties. He had his own room and he even had a comfort dog that he walked several times a day through the facility and even outside. He was supervised, monitored and cared for. What about checking out a skilled nursing facility for him?

Pat, I'm assuming your son has asked for your help? Just want to make sure he wants your input. If someone needs to actually make sure he takes his medication every day, I'm not certain what kind of service/facility that would be. What are his financial means? I get the whole "he would be here all the time" thing so does he have a job and a car? Sorry for lots of questions but it will help you get the best suggestions from this community.
