I don't know of any drugs that work for any dementia. I do not believe there are any. There are few ways to do studies and each individual cannot be tested against another not getting the medication. Doctors will tell you "studies show it slows whatever blah blah, or may". There is no proof I have seen and would love postings of studies if there are any anyone knows of. There are drugs that work for specific things in Parkinsons and etc. Some that work for hallucinations seem to make balance worse and vice versa. Do know that doctors get as much as 6% of the cost of the drug into their own pockets for writing prescriptions.
They cannot prove "slowing" at all.You can't prove a negative. You can't test for that, I think. That I know of there is NOTHING proven to work at all for any of the dementia diseases. If someone knows of any good studies proving otherwise I would love to know that.
