Curious, is there any kind of things for an 88 year old man to do in the Sapulpa area? He really needs to get out of the house.

You could also look into volunteering at an animal shelter. The animals need to be socialized to be more adoptable. At our local shelter, there are chairs in each cat room and plenty of toys on sticks so the physical exertion can be less than playing with the dogs.

Depending on his cognitive condition, he can volunteer to be a weekly reader at a daycare or preschool. When my son was in daycare they had a very elderly lady nicknamed Gramma Pat who came in and gave a very animated reading to the kids and they adored her. If there is a senior center he can see if there's any needs there (my mom helped intake the weekly lunch crowd and met lots of other nice seniors). Or he can volunteer at a church-run nursing home (my MIL was in a NH run by the Moravian Church and now she's in one run by Presbyterian Homes). Good luck!
