Should an elderly wife care for her husband who has Alzheimer's?

I think we would all love to help you try to figure out the answer on this one but we would need to know much more about the husband's diagnosis, about the wife's capabilities and abilities to function. Also about what other support will be available to assist her, for instance other family, outside care. Do tell us a bit more.

Eventually, a man with Alzheimer's Disease is likely to need more care and support than any one person can provide, elderly or not. If you would like to say a little more about the couple you're concerned about, perhaps forum members can suggest approaches you might like to try in helping them.
