My friend is 65 and her husband is disabled from a stroke and she's his primary caregiver. She's been looking for almost a year now and all the places for the elderly to live are all taken or the rent is too high. Since her husband is disabled and in a wheelchair they need a place that does not have steps and that's very hard to find, especially at the amount they are able to pay. Their Social Security checks put them just ABOVE low income. My friend has been told her husband could get a lot more help if he were divorced but she doesn't want to divorce him. They have to find a place in 60 days. Can anyone tell me where they can get help?
