I experienced that with my dad. He would follow me everywhere and would be right over my shoulder when I was cooking, writing bills etc. It is a normal part of the disease. They feel most comfortable around one person, usually the caregiver, and you feel like their safe zone. I just tried to go on a “mental vacation” and not focus on it. It’s hard though because we need our space.
You may see an increase in odd behavior late in the day. It's called "sundowning". You'll see mood swings, rummaging behavior, shadowing and ruminating over past events.
