My mother has severe heart disease and had kidney failure in March and they didn’t expect her to live through the night, but she pulled through and was doing ok. The past few weeks she has gotten progressively worse. She’s much weaker, sleeps a lot and eats and drinks practically nothing. Is her body shutting down? She has a living will and wants no tubes and such, she is by herself during the day when I’m at work

Sleeping a lot, eating, drinking very little then stopping all food and fluids is another.
Have you contacted Hospice? They will come in and help you, help your mom. They will help keep her comfortable. They will also provide any supplies and medications that you need.
There is a very good pamphlet you can read on line called "Crossing the Creek" it will answer a lot of questions.
