Does anyone know of a great dentist in the Richmond, Va area that excepts Medicaid?
Greetings all, I am working with an amazing Senior in my community. Does anyone know of a great dentist in the Richmond, Va area that excepts Medicaid? Thank You!
It was my experience with my in-laws (here in MN) that not many dentists accept "new" patients (read: Medicaid) because they are not compensated enough. You will need to just start calling each dentist in closest proximity and actually ask them. If you live near a University that has a Dental Hygiene school you can get your senior in there. If your senior has any physical or cognitive issues you will need to discuss this with any dentist before you make an appointment. My in-laws had both issues (MIL had chronic back pain and was overweight and very difficult to get into the dental chair). Some dentists will be willing to work on people as they stay in their wheelchairs. Dementia/ALZ patients are another sort of challenge.
You should just google "dentists near me+accept Medicaid" and you will see where to start.
We r from all over the US, UK, Canada and other countries. Hard to give out this info unless we live in Richmond.
Your Senior needs to call his dental insurance provider. They can tell you what dentists except medicaid in the area. Or call a LTC facility and ask what Dentist comes in there.
