What if no one signs woman up for Medicaid again and she already lives in assisted living?
What happens when disabled woman, who cannot sign up for Medicaid on her own due to disability, has a husband who doesn't want to be involved anymore and won't sign her up? He has all the info for her. Does the facility home get involved?
Gee, I think we need to know the real question if we're going to give any sort of useful advice. I've read both your posts, and I also replied to your other one, and it seems like you're purposefully leaving out the family details this time. That's totally fine, so let's get to the meat of your question, and tell me if I'm wrong:
You are worried about someone who qualifies for and should be on Medicaid, but she is not competent enough anymore to do the signing up herself. The person who should be signing her up as POA isn't doing it, so you want to know if the facility in which this woman lives can and will take it upon themselves to get her signed up for Medicaid or if there is anything you can do to make it happen. Did I get it right?
Yes, u said NH in your other post and an AL is a different thing. They are usually privately owned. So not sure legally they are allowed and not allowed to do. Please which is it a Nursing Home or an Assisted Living.

is your mom in a nursing home or AL? Medicaid won’t pay the full amount for AL. So if she’s in AL, she needs more than just Medicaid assistance.
