My Mom has a durable POA, but the bank says she must come in and sign something. Help!

Attorney says it was in effect when she signed it.

Banks can be extra cautious about granting access to accounts (and I, for one, am glad for it), even when presented with an attorney-prepared DPOA. My mom's bank ultimately wanted to see letters from two doctors declaring my mom unable to manage her finances in addition to the DPOA. No big deal for me; I already had the letters and we were good to go. If your mom is still of sound mind, then bring her in and away you go. If she is not, then ask the bank what they require. A letter from your mom's attorney couldn't hurt either.

The durable POA went in to affect as soon as it was signed. The OP is saying the durable POA is in effect and has been since it was signed.
