Go to Nursing Director & demand your LO is protected from him. He has to go to psych hospital for meds adjustment. File police report if your LO was hit by him. Hugs 🤗
If the facility is not going to protect the other residents then someone needs to.
I wonder if he doesn't have a UTI. If they are so derelict in dealing with physical violence it would not surprise me that they haven't checked for infection, which could be why he is a tornado.
My heart goes out for everyone in this situation. Mostly facilities are not equipped to deal with aggressive and violent behavior. Their hands are so tied by the rights of the offender.
He is a threat to others. I would ask thatvquestion of the Director of Nursing. I am surprised he hasn't been transferred to a Psych hospital to get meds to help with this.
It's a horrible problem that doesn't have any easy answers. We aren't allowed to use chemical or physical restraints and specialty care facilities and highly trained staff are at a premium - We get people coming to the forum freaking out because their care recipients are being kicked out and they have no where to go, it is especially heartbreaking when that person is acting in ways that are totally contrary to the way they lived their lives.
I am sorry you haven't had a response yet. I don't think I am the best informed but I would venture to say it is likely there is no where else for him to go. I think you need to speak to administrators ASAP. They may not be able to tell you but you could say you would hope that this abusive resident is receiving medication for his behavior. He either needs to be more isolated or not isolated at all. My point there being he needs to have as little interaction as possible with other residents. If you are not getting any satisfactory answers I suppose you could threaten to call the police depending on how violent the nature is regarding the behavior. I am so sorry you are dealing with this and hope there is some resolution very soon.
