I'm a certified caregiver interested in getting suggestions for rates to charge.
I'm a Certified Personal Care Aide in Virginia who has been working for an agency for 3yrs. I'm in the process of acquiring private duty clients. I'd like suggestions for what rates to charge per hour.
LesleeCares, as NeedHelpWithMom had written, rates can vary. In fact it can vary from within a State. And can even vary depending on what is required for you to do.
Where you live, rates would be lower then here in northern Virginia. My Dad had caregivers from an agency and the agency was charging $30 per hour.
Don't undersell yourself, you are worth every dollar. You are certified and have experience.
As for private duty clients, those clients may not realize that they would need to have "workmans comp" insurance, just in case you should hurt yourself on the job. And who would do payroll taxes, or would you as an independent contractor take care of your own payroll taxes? Lot of think about.
