I am sole caregiver for my mom, Dr. says it’s not safe for her to live alone but she refuses to leave her home. What can I do?

Mom has moderate to severe Alzheimer’s with vascular disease. I have 4 other siblings but not much help. I would like my mom to move to assisted living or nursing home. Taking care of her has put a huge strain on my health. Any advice please.

Do you have POA? I am so sorry that you are struggling with this. Best wishes to you and your mom.

Same as I say! Your turn to make the decisions, which must be for your own health, now. What happens to her if you go down?

If you have POA it probably comes into effect when Mom is found incompetent, which has happened. Its no longer what Mom wants but what she needs. She needs 24/7care.
