My mom is in stage 4 Lewy body dementia. Is it normal to wander non stop during the day and night?

Lisa
There is quiet a bit of info on Lewy Body Dementia on this site. One long time poster, JennieGibbs, was her husband’s caretaker for 10 years and if you do a search for her husband Coy you will find her posts. She also had posts about her mom but the LBD were about her husband.
Also another poster who discusses LBD is Igloo. Her mom had LBD. Here is a link where hallucinations are being discussed. I know you are looking for info on wandering. Igloos answer mentions wandering and the doctors and meds that were helpful for her mom. Maybe this will help you find help.

Lisa,
Unfortunately there is really no normal with dementia!
Wandering is a "typical " behavior.
If Mom is in AFL and on "lockdown ", the sudden change may be part of the problem.
If Mom is with you, you may want to have discussion with her Doctor about possible treatments.
God bless!
