I found a banana in a cupboard where it isn't normally kept. My partner immediately said that I'd put it there. Do people with Alzheimer's/ dementia transfer blame and hold you responsible?
He probably had NO MEMORY of him doing it, so, it had to be you. lol I'm not kidding. I recall that I searched everywhere for the tv cable box, which my LO said she hadn't seen. An hour later, I found it in the kitchen cupboard! She denied putting it there. I said, I must have done it by mistake and was sorry. No need to argue. She would never have believed that she did it and forgot. I'd keep in mind that it's not purposefully making things up and blaming you, but, it's an inadequate brain that knows no other options.
If you mean do people with dementia try to blame others for their own deficits then yes, they do. After all, somebody is doing all those odd things like hiding the remote in the vegetable crisper and it can't be them because they are just fine!
