My Mother passed away March of 2018. I had her taxes done for that year. Well she just received a stimulus check in the mail for $1200.

The check has her name on it and deceased behind it. Under her name is my name. Do I have to return the check or do I cash it being my name is on it as well?
Thank you

Depends on what experts you want to trust.

I would send the check back, it is the moral and ethical thing to do.

Because your name is on the check and the word 'deceased' is behind your mom's name you get to keep the check!

You get to keep the check most likely per the tax experts.
