If she has no psychotic disorders, what's the purpose? It doesn't address a behavioral issue nor does it change the outcome. There's a reason Seroquel isn't approved by the FDA for LBD. Remember, you are still her advocate and if you see no benefit, then there's no reason to administer it.

Is she having behavioral issues like agitation? Or disturbing delusions?

If she is showing no symtoms then say no. You need to be proactive in wifes care, which you seem to be. Drs tend to just prescribe this or that. Its the pharmacist who catches the interactions and may question the use.

I was involved with my Moms care and my husbands when he has been hospitalized. I have questioned discharge papers especially concerning BP medication. They had upped Moms BP meds for pain. Once the procedure was done, no more pain but they did not take her back down. Same with husband. He doesn't take BP medication but was given it because he was in AFib. No more AFib but said he should continue with BP meds. Mom couldn't keep her eyes open. Homecare Nurse freeked out when she saw Mom was on double BP meds. Got an order from Dr. to take back down. DH goes for 2 week checkup and Dr. says he is lucky he is walking and takes him off BP meds. I swore the next time either of them was in the hospital again that they would be going to their PCP the next day, no waiting a week or two like suggested. I asked one hospital Dr. to consult with her PCP and was told while Mom was in the hospital she would be incharge of her care. I think this is why mistakes are made.
I can tell you other things. You have to be involved. And its so much easier now we have the internet to look up drugs and find out about them.

Quietiapine, aka Seroquel is an anti-psychotic used to treat depression, bi-polar disorder and dementia. My mother was on a low dose of it. She had no side effects but it didn’t make much difference in her behavior either.
