She frequently goes to bathroom (ensuite) then comes out of her bedroom frequently (every 45-60 minutes) probably up until 3 or 4am. I have mentioned there’s no need to worry about us as we go to bed safely. We can be in bed and she still will come out of her room. She said ok and she will stay safely in her bedroom but she still carries on behaving the same way. This has been going on for about 3 weeks and so is quite recent and new. She will also say that it’s her first time she’s been out to check when she’s actually done it multiple times. We are in our 50s and she is 76. Should I be concerned?

Depending how far along she is, in her mind she maybe checking on her children. 3 am seems to be a usual time for people suffering from a Dementia to get up. My Mom did it too. She thought it was time to get up. And would start getting dressed. I would have to show her it was dark out so not time to get up. She would say OK and go back to bed.
No my mil has not been diagnosed with dementia. I‘m concerned as her behaviour is such that maybe it could be. I will take her to the doctors and see what they say. I just wondered whether it should be of concern.
thanks for your reply x

Please note, when someone has dementia you cannot reason with that person because their brain is, unfortunately, not thinking clearly. So sorry you are going through this since your Mom is so young by today's standards.
And it’s potential dementia I’m worried about as like you say you cannot reason with someone who may have it. I will get her checked out. Thanks for taking the time out and giving advice.
