Pick's disease falls under the dementia umbrella. It is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that, like Alzheimer's, has no cure. It usually begins earlier than AD. As the disease progresses, you can expect difficulty with language, mood swings, inappropriate speech in public stings and other difficult to understand behaviors. This is a difficult journey for both the person with FTD and the caregiver. This is a good, concise article. Picks is a form of fronto-temporal dementia. From what I've read, very difficult to provide adequate care at home as the disease progresses.
