Moving my grandmother from PA to VA to our home for permanent care. What paperwork, legal or social services should I expect?

Medicare itself can go over State lines unless its a Medicare Advantage. A suppliment will also need to be checked out. May not go over state lines. Call your County Office of Aging, they may be able to help. Medicaid does not go over state lines either.

ChrisVA, does your Grandmother have a Will or Trust? You may want to check with an Elder Law Attorney in Virginia to see if there would be any changes to the Will or Trust, as Virginia laws may or may not be similar to that of Pennsylvania.
