Medicaid helped my mom get into an assisted living.I would also check with the agency on aging. There was a list of assisted living places we were given that were part of the state medicaid program. You really need to get familiar with what your state has to offer,(and thats not the easiest task) there are most definitely different ways things are done, depending on where you live. You will need to check the laws specific to the state you live in. Many (but not all) do not pay for much, or any of AL, only LTC, MC, etc. Contact your county's social services (Dept of Health and Human Services) for an accurate answer to your question. You may qualify for some in-home services. If your rent is too high you can look into Section 8 housing. Also contact your area's Agency on Aging for resources.
