Husband hearing voices. How do I deal with this?

NEXT WEEK. AFRAID IT MAY BE UTI........ IF IT GOES TOO LONG IS NOT GOOD

totally forgot that men can get this too.

my lo stopped talking... I saw it in her eyes, what she was feeling sometimes... at times she was lost... and then she would know who I was...
My FIL had a difficult operation,, and he saw things. and heard things.
my brother had a bad accident... he said ,,,, do you see that? No, i dont..
It's only for me only :) He was fascinated by what he saw....
he had a really bad dirtbike accident.... hospital over 15 days......... almost lost him then... he has gone to heaven......
Do Not Correct Him... Do Not Say anything negative to him..You may just want to ask him about the conversation.. perhaps.. record it? NOt sure if that's ideal....
When he is having these "conversations" ,,, step out of the room for a bit... separate yourself from it.. Can He walk? Perhaps take him for little walks up and down the street? If possible...
Play Match game with him... Get a deck of cards and play match game if he is willing... memory game... you flip a couple cards.. if they don't match.. .it's his turn to find a matching set...
or divert the issues of these "conversations" somehow... have someone come in and visit... caregiver, friend, relative, to help you out a bit. for an hour,, or something...

Some people, without dementia, have auditory hallucinations.

These voices are very real to them. There is sometimes medication that can help.
I’m not sure if this medication is appropriate for someone with Alzheimers.

If his voices are friendly, that’s a blessing. Some are not.

A geriatric psychiatrist may be helpful.

I wouldn’t rule out checking on the UTI. Even though it’s normal for him for the past few years, it has increased lately. Dementia symptoms are often worse with a UTI.
Call your husband’s Primary and see if they can advise you on getting that test. It’s a little long to wait a month in case that’s the problem.

Let us know how he is doing. We learn from one another.

Give your doctor a note of what you have witnessed before the appointment, so s/he knows what to check. Have you got all the the documents in order, including HIPPA?

Definitely keep a diary of what is said and when. Sounds as though he is having paranoid delusions. We can't really try to blame this on a UTI if it is ongoing. I think that you should ask your regular MD for a Neuro-psyc workup.
