My father has lived with me for 15 years. He’s in good health but needs daily managing which I do as I’m retired. Recently he’s been making a real mess when he has bowel movements and ends up with poop on his socks and shoes sometimes his clothing. I have to strip him down and clean. I don’t know what he’s doing differently, maybe it’s just age but it’s a problem. Moving him out is not an option, he’d be totally senile in a month. Has anyone dealt with this and has a solution? Would a male diaper help or just make things worse? Would love to hear from anyone about this. Thanks.

Is it possible for someone to help him in the bathroom to find out what is actually happening? That would be my 1st step after scheduling an appointment to rule out any medical cause.
