If you have made a referral to Adult Protective Services regarding a parent, should you receive a decision from the investigator?

This involves both physical and financial abuse that I have documented. I would appreciate any information or opinions.

I have followed up with the investigator who informed me the police departments would have any information. My police and sheriff departments do not have any in my county, but my siblings live in other counties.Thank you for answering my question !

If the case has been closed all they will tell you is that there is nothing to investigate. Any information they collect is confidential and only open to a judge if that becomes necessary.

If you call they will be likely to tell you if they are moving forward with investigations in a case, or if a case has even been opened, or if they feel they see no reason to move forward with an investigation.
If you suspect physical abuse you should be calling the police with your evidence as well.
If you suspect financial abuse you should be also making a police report with your evidence in hand. You might also consider a Lawyer.

Have you followed up with the investigator?  I think that would probably be the best method of determining the status of the referral.
