Depends on the conditions, is this person mobile, bedridden, time of day, diaper changes?
anyways my mother is bedridden and when she is in this state, I hum or sing one of her favorite hems, make sure I’m out of reach while doing my task that needs to be done, walk way for 15 mins come back and try again, small piece of candy worked two years ago, but now it doesn’t.
I can always tell when her meds need to be adjusted because she is more agitated more often.
Taking care of someone that’s on the slow March of death isn’t an easy task and you will be pinched, hit, hair pulled etc, it’s not ok but it’s going to happen and it’s just learning to lessen it.
You haven't given any details on whether or not this is unprovoked aggression or told us anything about the person who is aggressive so it is kind of hard to give specific advice. You may find this Teepa Snow video helpful.
