Why does this ugly disease rob the most important person in my life? I feel cheated by lack of time because of this COVID-19 disease.

No human contact since March, only window visits and occasionally a cordless phone. She hardly speaks only counts sometimes.

It is a virus. Viruses don't have emotions and empathy. They are simple organisms determined to live, and we are their prey. It is very tough for EVERYONE. People are shut in, frightened, losing loved ones, confused. This has happened in history before, and is happening now again. It is dreadfully hard on our elders especially and on all who love them. But in reality, it is a simple organism as determined to live, breed and thrive as we are. It is on the rise again, and all who must congregate together in small places indoors are especially at risk. It is very sad.

There isn’t any ‘why’. Well over 100,000 American people have literally been robbed of life itself, and with 500,000 new US cases reported in the last week, many more deaths are on the way. We must all cope as best we can.

Yes, AD does rob us of the most important people in our lives. Then throw in COVID and it's a double whammy. I feel badly for you and all the caregivers who cannot give their LO a hug or a kiss. A window visit just doesn't do it. We need to express our physical love both for them and for us the caregiver. We want more time with them. I lost my wife after 52 yrs of marriage... not enough time. I'm sorry I can't be of any help but know that you are not alone. Covid be damned... I'm sending you a big hug!
