Without taking from mom? If you are her caregiver, getting paid is not taking. It is earning. You need a caregiver agreement with mom and taxes, etc withheld to make it legal. An elder law attorney can help to get it setup legally.
Need more info. Are you talking about you needing help? Caregivers rarely get paid. PA is one state that healthcare agencies will train and hire a person and allow them to care for a LO. I have a feeling though, its government funded thru Medicaid and the LO has to qualify.
I agree, you need to go to Social Services in ur County and find out what is available to you. Maybe Medicaid will pay you if Mom qualifies. Maybe you can get an aid thru Medicaid so u can work. Again, Mom will need to qualify. Office of Aging maybe able to help. But I would try SS first.
Contact your county's social services and have mom assessed for in-home services. Your only other option is to find out if Medicaid covers some or all of Assisted Living in your state. Contact your area's Agency on Aging for information. Honestly, other than SS and Medicaid, there's not a lot of other options for financial help to cover aging at home.
