Since you live in Levittown PA, me in NJ, you probably get the same TV stations I do. They advertise all the time where agencies will train you and then allow u to care for a LO. You are paid by the agency and some advertise benefits.

caregiver24x7, paid by whom? The vast majority of grown children who are caregivers to their parent do not get paid.... unless that parent pays them directly from their retirement fund. If yes, then payroll taxes would need to be worked out or the caregiver goes as an Independent Contractor, thus would need to pay quarterly Estimated Taxes to the IRS.

If your hubby becomes an "employee" of Mom and she pays him, she would need to look into "workman comp" policy with her insurance company in case he should get hurt on the job.

If Mom can't paid, as others here had mentioned, have hubby check with your State Medicaid [Medicaid is different from Medicare].

He’s entitled to receive payment from his mother. She should be paying him. However if she is low-in come and qualifies both medically and financially then your husband can be paid through a PA state Medicaid program. Don’t look up “in home support services” because that is not a Pennsylvania pogram, it’s a program in California and a couple other states. In PA the program is called “services my way”, it’s a medicaid program.

Look into "In home supportive services". They give a little through medicaid.
