Ask her doctor(s) for assistance. One could script for a bed, and through their DME supplier contacts, find an appropriate one. I'm not familiar with the current Medicare guidelines on special beds, but you might review them so you're familiar with what can be offered.
If you can get a doctor to script for one though, more than likely his/her office will contact a DME supplier and arrange for one to be delivered.
You might also contact Orange County elder division(s), or comparable CA divisions, and explore this issue. They also might be able to help you.
Just out of curiosity, I searched on "bariatric beds, CA" and got a good list of hits.
