My sister needs hospice care in Kelowna BC. How do I get help as I live in Vancouver?
She has cancer throughout her body but its in her brain and she cannot make safe logical decisions but she fights with all of us because she thinks she's right with stories she's made up.
Does anyone have POA? If not are you prepared to apply for guardianship or get the Provincial Trustee involved? Guardianship is expensive, here in BC it can cost between $5-10K. The Public Trustee takes all decisions out of the hands of family.
Do you know who any of her doctor's are? Even without a Personal Representative for Healthcare agreement, you can contact her doctor and express your concerns.
I also strongly suggest you contact a Hospice organization in the Lower Mainland and ask them for help. They should be able to offer you counseling, support, and general information about resources available here in BC.
