Client recently fell and dislocated their shoulder. Now they are in rehab. Not sure of the timeline. What phones do you recommend?

What phones do you recommend ?

It's been my experience with multiple rehab facilities that a phone is always provided for the patient, in the room and typically on a nightstand close to the bed.

If you want to purchase a phone for your client, I certainly wouldn't buy a cell phone.   A person in rehab has enough on his/her mind recording, resting and adapting w/o having to learn how to use a cell phone.

Is there some reason the patient can't use the facility phone provided, or by chance is this person getting rehab at home?

Or are you thinking of a phone for home use when your patient is discharged to home?

Are you an aide or a Social Worker?

As an aide, I don't think this is your responsibility. Especially if the client has family. Phones are available for patients for a small fee tacked on their bill at rehabs.

As a Social Worker, same thing, the rehab can supply a phone.

I am assuming u mean a cell phone. Has the client requested a phone? Can they sign a contract and have the money to pay the monthly fee? If the client has never had a phone, they may not be able to learn one.

I have used Tracfone for years. I paid upfront for my Android and then buy minutes as I go. I get text and data.

"phones"? Did you mean "homes"? This site is owned by A Place For Mom. Go to the main home page and you'll find where to click to speak to a representative who can help you.
